The original photograph was taken in ProCamera, which, apart from the the Apple iphone camera is my favourite camera app because of the independent control you have over light and focus.
Here (below left) is the original, unprocessed photograph taken in ProCamera. Load the image into Iris Photo Suite and choose the Color Balance option.
Adjust the colours using the sliders, especially in the Shadows option to remove a lot of the black and bring some bright fresh greens into the picture.
Be careful here not to lose the yellow of the daffodil.
Finally I brought the image into the app Touch Retouch to fill in some of the background area, top centre of the image to fill in some of the white space with trees giving more definition to the daffodil petals.
