Every Friday, a weekly selection of images is chosen to reflect the extraordinary creativity being produced on iPhones, iTouches and iPads. The gallery aims to inspire and share the processes we use to create the images – therefore – to qualify for this group artists must share the apps you use to create your amazing images.
If you would like your image to be considered for Apps Uncovered please join the iPhoneographyCentral Flickr group.
To be featured in Apps Uncovered, please give your image a title and list the apps you have used, the device (iphone, ipad or itouch or combination) and any other information relevant to the picture. This could be the story behind taking the picture, technical information or both.
Please do not use watermarks if you can possibly help it. Make sure all the images are taken and edited with one or a combination of the following iPhone, iTouch or iPad and state which you used in your image. Thank you.
Every image that is selected will contain a link back to the artist's Flickr or own website page. Thank you to all of you who submit your images to the group and please enjoy this week's Apps Uncovered:
Apps Uncovered Friday 10 February 2012
Apps Uncovered is finally here! My sincere apologies for the delay but I won’t waste any more time by introducing you to my fabulously talented guest selector this week Laura Peischl; one of the original members of iPhoneography Central and a valuable inspiration in the iPhoneography community. Over to Laura..
“What a great community iPhoneography Central has become! WoW!
Hi , I am Laura and I had the honor and pleasure to choose this week’s favorites.
I am from Vienna/Austria and living in Malta since 8 years together with my husband and a most amazing and lovely teenage daughter.
I started taking images with my iPhone in December 2009 and saw the community of mobile photographers growing and changing through 4 generations of iPhone and an ever increasing amount of awesome apps.
It was REALLY hard to narrow down my choice to just a few images out of so many wonderful ones and I hope you will enjoy them.
Many thanks, Nicki for offering me this chance and experience and also for the amount of work and the dedication you invest to promote mobile photography and us, the artists!
Wish you all an inspiring week!”
Laura Peischl

Abstract is a little different for me, but this is part of my 'Wonky Facebook Art'. A glitch on Facebook yesterday made my wall photos all stretched and funny, I quite liked the effect, so did some screen shots before I refreshed the page. After a bit of experimenting between Diptic & scratchcam, I ran another version through iDroste and this is the result.

The foreground was shot using Slow Shutter Cam and then modified in PictureShow and Filterstorm, after which I used Blender to add the staircase. (The staircase was shot using 6x6.) Processing beyond that was performed using Scratchcam, King Camera and Filterstorm.

Hatred I can't stand it anymore. The color of our skin we must ignore. Do you feel the pain or see the hurt, Or do you let it pass right by instead?
This fighting, dividing, y'know we'll only lose This fighting, dividing, y'know we'll only lose
How come we can stand for such a crime, Racial hate, a real sign of the times. We've gotta raise our voice, begin the fight And equal world held high is in our sight"

This gentleman was so delightful! Stood and listened to him play for a bit, took some photos and then put a dollar in his sax case. He stopped playing, gave me the biggest smile and said "Hugs are free!" and then we hugged and I got teary eyed (because I'm a flaming sap) and then I went on my way. Delightful!!!Taken with iPhone4 + edited with an iPad2

Title: beauty –
"she cuts out eyes, lips, hair from magazines, pastes them together on mat board. she's between girlhood and womanhood. she holds their beauty to her skin, compares herself to print. she has yet to feel not enough, not as much or as good as."
Artist: Laura Frantz
Ideas, idevices and apps behind the image:
Camera+ capture, cropped in Camera+ and converted to b&w with Noir. I then imported it into Filterstorm and used the cloning tool to extend the vignette all the way down through the lower right corner of the shot in order to cover over distracting background clutter (messy home office). I then used Filterstorm to make slight contrast and brightness adjustments and saved the image.
Title: Snow Blind
Artist: Cindy Patrick
Workflow: (idevice/Apps/Accessories/Story behind the image)
(1) iPhone 4 for original shot using Hipstamatic (John S lens/BlacKeys B+W film)
(2) PS Express to crop the square into a vertical. (I wanted to accentuate the height of the tree in relation to the figures.)
(3) Blurfx to blur everything but the figures and a few branches of the tree.
(4) ScratchCam until I landed on an effect I liked. It was snowing, but this filter really enhanced the look of the snow, which I wanted.
That's it!
Title: Bieber has left the building

Ideas, idevices and apps behind the image:
Image was taken with the iPhone 4 using AlmostDSLR. I used PictureShow (Retro filter) to get the vintage tone and tinkered with the colors a little bit more using the same app. Lastly, adjustments for saturation and sharpening were done using Filterstorm.

The curve in the leaf is natural (no addon lens), the misty light was morning ambient light and due to a lot of summer rain.
Apps Uncovered Friday 20 January 2012 by Liz Grilli
Welcome to this week's Apps Uncovered! ….This weekly feature selects images from the iPhoneographyCentral Flickr group and asks the artist to reveal the Apps they used to create their images. IphoneographyCentral has a special guest selector this week, the wonderfully talented Liz Grilli also known as themoaningtree. Liz's outstanding work is very dark and evocative, often featuring gulls in striking poses of flight invoking moods of panic and beauty in the same image. She has also created some of the finest haunting "Selfies" (Self Portraits). Here's a little more about Liz followed by her 12 images selected for this week's Apps Uncovered.
"Iphoneongraphy! Wooot!! Dontcha' love it? Me, too!! :-) I'm Liz, an iPhoneographer who currently resides in the Pacific Northwest. About a year ago, the iPhone and accompanying editing apps became my medium of choice, love at first edit.
My other passions and interests include my husband and four amazing children, pen and ink drawing, reading, any type of music and, of course, drooling over other artist’s work.
Though it was incredibly difficult to choose only a dozen images from this group, I've very much enjoyed the opportunity, and offer up my heartfelt thanks to Nicki for her dedication and hard work for IPhoneography. Thanks, Nicki, on behalf of your many followers!"

Image was taken with the iPhone 4 using Camera+, straightening and cropping was also done using the same app. I then ran the image through CrossProcess app with only green, blue and basic sliders on. For the B&W effect, I used Photoshop Express. Lastly, a bit of sharpening was also done using Photoshop Express. That's it :)

Artist:
Paula (Jahsharn)
Workflow: (idevice/Apps/Accessories/Story behind the image)
Device: iPhone 4
Apps used:Snapseed, Camera+, Diptic, Filterstorm, Brushes
Firstly I changed the two images to B&W in Camera + I then brushed any foreground detail out in Brushes, so there could be a smooth blend when both photos are merged together. This was followed by a slight adjustment to the B&W contrast in Snapseed. I then merged the two images together in Diptic and finally I resized the completed photo in Filterstorm.
Thank you Liz for being this week's guest selector. You can see Liz's work here:
