This gallery features a handful of selections of the outstanding iPhoneography published on the iPC Flickr group and elsewhere on the internet. The aim of the gallery is to show the very best of the wide variety of iPhone, iPad and iTouch art and photography. The artists are also asked to reveal the apps and workflows used in creating their amazing iPhone photographs and art which is detailed beneath each image. Click on any image to see more of the artist's work. For a chance to be included in this weekly gallery, please join the iPC Flickr group. Please be sure to add the process/Apps you used in order to be included in the group. Thank you.
Please add your apps used: Thank you all once again for your wonderful submissions. I am afraid it's taking me ages to publish Apps Uncovered partly because of chasing artists for the Apps. Even though artists all respond really quickly,(thank you) and I know it's a probably a real pain to do it, it is a lot of extra work for me so unfortunately I am going to be really strict and leave great works of iPhoneography out if the apps/processing aren't mentioned either in the title, description or tags so please, please add your apps :-) Thank you –Nicki–

Title: Long Beach in the rain...
Artist: Cecily Caceu
Device/Apps/Info: I went on a short Spring Break trip with my daughter to Long Beach, Washington. We were on a bike ride in the rain and had stopped to look at something on the trail. I noticed how the bike was so vibrant in the cloudy grey weather and wet trail and thought it might make a good image. I took the image with the prohdr app and then I processed it in snapseed to alter some of the light and add a little blur to bring the focus on the bike. I was so happy that the ocean could be seen behind the grass!!

rtist: Gary Gardiner
Device/Apps/Info:Grandson, who visits every other weekend, becomes the second boy in the neighborhood during those two days and is popular with the only other boy and the girls his age who now have another male to taunt.
During a lull after dinner and before he rejoined the crew, pulled him aside telling him I wanted a photo where he looked like the "bad-ass who ruled the neighborhood."
He smiled and assumed this pose.

Title C'est un Canard
Artist Michael M. White
Device/Apps/Info:
This is a composite of 4 different images. I cropped the orginal image of the 2 buildings and the man pushing the garbage container and added the rest as needed. I'm quite pleased with the result because I shot it during the day this past St. Patrick's day.
I lifted the duck from a shot I snapped last summer. The statue in the window came from a photo I shot last summer on the west coast of Canada and I snapped the one in the alley way a couple of weeks ago.
Apps: Juxtaposer, Scratchcam -there was a great filter that brought the light levels down. This gave me the idea to change the scene from day into night; Blur FX or Big Lens Blur, ToonPaint to bring back some of the lines I found interesting as well as to change the character of the lines (ie. on the windows); Photocopier-Klee; Lens Flare or LensLight - to add directional lighting in the alley way, the light behind the statue in the window, and all the lights on the wall. Iris Photosuite - added shadows where needed, such as the statue's in the alleyway against the yellow wall and extending from his feet into frame because he is backlit, etc. I also used the same masking technique to add highlights on the statues as needed. I might have used other apps for minor touches, but those are the main ones.

Title: Day 83: The Last Breath of Winter
Artist: Steven Dempsey
Device/Apps/Info: Maybe it's wishful thinking but, despite another snowfall yesterday, it feels like spring is finally close.
We moved to a new house back in October so we haven't experienced spring flowers in our garden yet. I'm largely ignorant when it comes to that so I'm determined to figure out what flowers and plants we have and what they are called.
A friend just gave us a big fat gardening book so I best get reading.

Title: Frank, Walt, and Sam
Artist: D. Ingraham
Device/Apps/Info: Apps: Hipstamatic, Snapseed, PerfectPhoto.
This was, for the most part, a straight out-of-camera Hipstamatic shot ( John S. lens, BlacKeys Super Grain film ) , but I dragged it through Snapseed to brighten my friend's face a bit, add a bit of contrast to the clouds, and trim the border's edge ever so slightly. I also used PerfectPhoto to spot heal a few of the blotches in the sky that are so inherent of the John S. lens.
The subject in the shot is my friend Sam, in front of Frank Gehry's Disney Hall, on his 18th hour of a 24-hour photo challenge he and 60-something other people around the world were doing on Instagram. He'd been traveling around L.A. since Midnight and this was between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m., so needless to say, he was pretty exhausted and semi-delerious by this point!

Title: Day 86: The Power of Light
Artist: Steven Dempsey
Device/Apps/Info: In my work as a filmmaker and photographer, light is one of the most important things I work with. It can create a feeling of happiness and hope or dread and fear or everything in between.
Around lunchtime every day, I notice this light straining to get through the blinds. Put a person in the frame in silhouette and it suddenly becomes mysterious and a hundred stories goes through my mind as to what could be happening...

Title: On the edge
Artist: Lindsey Thompson
Device/Apps/Info: Taken with an iPhone 4 macro, edited with an iPad 2. Apps used: Camer+ + Touch Retouch + Snapseed
One of the first ladybirds we'd seen this year, Mia found it in a bush on the front of the house. I actually thought it was dead, so left it on a piece of paper on the kitchen windowsill to photograph later. I was quite surprised to find it had vanished and had to hunt it down. It was found crawling around the top of a tea light holder!
