Title: At the death of Ray Bradbury – “Watch your step, running dog lackeys of aesthetic deviation”
Artist: Bob Weil
Story behind the image: Apropos of Ray Bradbury’s death, and his view of political correctness. The author appended the following as a ‘coda’ to his classic novel Fahrenheit 451 in 1979, after it was redacted by the publisher without his approval:
"For it is a mad world and it will get madder if we allow the minority, be they dwarf or giant, orangutan or dolphin, nuclear-head or water-conversationalist, pro-computerologist or Neo-Luddite, simpleton or sage, to interfere with aesthetics."
– Ray Bradbury
Fahrenheit 451
A key sub-theme of the novel – it’s only a short step from eliminating the art to eliminating the artist. You students of the former Soviet Union will recognize the trend line.
Device/Apps used/: Shot using Slow Shutter and processed on an iPhone and iPad. Camera360 and Pixlromatic used to get the colors just right, and SuperImpose to lay in the relevant piece of ephemera copy from the 70s.
AWESOME new find (for me at least) – Procreate, an iPad-only painting tool that allowed me to import the image and add a halftone effect over the two people, and drop a splotch of paint under the text. Bad Camera used to add the scratch textures, but since they were bolder than I care for, I overlaid a non-scratched copy in SuperImpose and blended to lighten the effect.

Title: Curiosity about the stranger at la Quinceañera
